Western Arthurs - November

Hi

I am thinking of walking the Western Arthurs in November. I have read Chapman's track notes, and some notes on the web. I would like some guidance on how difficult the 'difficult' sections are as there is not too much information around.

I have done many walks - incuding OT in winter and South Coast where it rained every day for 7 days., I regularly walk in the Vic Alps and consider myself reasonably capable (dodgy knee aside).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards

Steve

If you do a search for 'Western Arthurs' on this site you will find a plethora of information, including photos & descriptions of the 'difficult' sections.

Based on your previous experience you should be fine.
I have done the full traverse in November & we only got 20 mins of light drizzle in 8 days; it can be a stable time of year.

Good luck.

Cheers.
Stu.

November should be fine weather wise, but be aware that it can turn nasty at any moment - I learnt that one first hand. Use the info from previous posts, I found it very useful, even if I didn't manage to complete the full traverse.

Probably a good time of year to avoid the crowds and be able to choose the best tent sites.
