Does anyone know the story behind the very short article on page 2 of Thursday's Mercury about 12 walkers being rescued on Wednesday from Wellington by helicopter? The article made it sound as though they were just a bit tired and cold and may have telephoned for help!

I heard a radio report on this. I might be wrong but I think they were stranded in the car park. Too much snow to drive back down.
