Hi Young Hiker

Any of these walks in the Great Western Tiers are really good - a fantastic area and mostly only about one hour from Launceston: http://tastracks.webs.com/greatwesterntiers.htm
Happy walking'

Hi young hiker

My wife and I walked in to Lees Paddocks with our 6 year old in November, was a fantastic walk with a wonderful hut to stay the night in once we got there.....there are some photos posted on this forum of our walk.

overnighters or day walks?

You can get books on this- there are a heap of them- Family Walks in the Northwest, Family Walks in the Launceston Area and Family Walks in the Huon Valley are the ones I have.
All good things are wild, and free.

Liffey Falls perhaps is a good one. Not that long but plenty to see along the way according to my guide. Havn't been there yet but will be this coming friday with a small group. Cheers Chris.
