Hello,
I'm in Hobart at the moment and I want to buy GME MT410G PLB as soon as possible.
Does somebody know where I can buy such a unit in Hobart,
Cheers
Simon

I would check out the marine places - they would be the best, but check the prices
CH Smith, Peter Johnson
Alternatively, Johny Appleseed will do free overnight bags to Hobart
http://www.ja-gps.com.au/GME/mt410g-plb/ - $459 will be hard to beat I reckon for the GPS model

Alternatively, check out Service Tasmania for a hire unit - they may have one available.

I've bought mine at Jolly Swagmans camping store in Elizabeth St, between Banjo's and Mountain Designs.
It's expensive and needs to be registered to a local address, so if you're on holidays here I also suggest trying Service Tasmania first. They may have some available for hire, however since it is the season it's quite likely you'll be put on a waiting list.

I wonder why they have suddenly dropped in price? Good value at that price.

How much are they at Tasmanian Marine Distributors - Mertonvale Circuit, Kingston.

They have dropped in price due to the emergence of the Resqlink brand retailing at $449.95 and at only 130g, same frequency, being a good buy. I know the Gma 410g is a trusted model, but it is quite bulky

Haven't got the catalogue near me, but pretty sure they're on the cover for $349

Got mine from mountainequipment.com for $375 for the 410G. They're based in Sydney and shipped within a couple of days of order.
