Interested to know if anyone has camped on the range, if so where, and also if they can remember walking time to the top from Cox Bight?
Cheers

Wow, thanks eggs, hope Sunday night is like that!
Not sure if I will have time to get up there from Cox Bight but it would be nice to get a shot half as good as that.

I'm hopeful Peter..... the New Harbour Range gives an amazing view all the way to Melaleuca from Cox Bight, following the path of the Needwonnee creation story, I'm hoping to spend an evening on the range and then get down to Cox by dawn for the magic hour on the beach, Pete will be based in Melaleuca the whole time and I will join him in the afternoon for interviews etc, I'm hopeful of a fantastic result.

Re your question about water, we carried three litres each up from N.H. beach for dinner and breakfast, only to find that there was a good area of shallow pools and seepage in the low point between boulder "bumps" that we camped between, so had plenty of water. Range top water will always depend on extent of recent rainfall, but there hasn't been any drought in the SW this summer!
Good Luck

FANTASTIC - yes quite a "reasonable campsite" when the SW weather is in one of its kinder moods. Look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Nice spot. Do you ever mistake a boulder for your tent, or visa versa? (Or maybe I just need my eyes tested!)
