Lees Paddocks - Pelion - Fungi Spectacular!

Postby heidielgersma » Fri 13 May, 2011 5:25 pm

Just completed a short walk through Lees Paddocks into Pelion and up Mt Oakleigh. Have never seen fungi as stunning as on this walk. Every colour imaginable - black, orange, red, blue, pink, yellow, brown, white..... A true feast for the senses.Just really sad that I didn't have my good camera with me :( Planning a return with all the appropriate photographic equipment though. But for now the mental images will have to suffice....
Is it unusually good weather for fungi? or did I just pick the perfect time to get out and see it?

I was recently down at Port Arthur with my school group and we went to the coal mines. Walking around we saw so many gorgeous fungi, a lot of bright purple ones and a few bright pink ones were the stand outs for me!
