Is it just another idea like the Lake Margaret to St Clair... Roland to Cradle... St Clair to Melaleuca..... or is this actually going ahead?

As it involves those associated with Corinna, my guess is it is a serious proposal. And I think it could certainly work, provided numbers were limited to what the area can cope with. Don't know if I'd like to join the conga line following the leader but hey thats just me.

Infrastructure side of projects on public land should wait for public funding or not proceed, otherwise, great idea... (Its also a bit of a shame (can be found from other sources) that these new projects are compared to or considered to be better than the Overland Track. Even as a spin to attract funding it shows a lack of respect for how different each area is).

There is a rumour that 3 Capes is to be scrapped for 'another proposal' didn't think it was to be up North though.....

Parks struggle with their own assets, maybe the private sector is the way to go..??

I hadn't heard that SBS. It wouldnt supprise me though. It would be a brave investor to throw the money necessary into such a new track project. If our government really want to do this sort of thing 'something as big as the Overland Track' then it would seem someone needs to grasp the fact that it (the OT) already had a solid reputation before the huts tender was called. If then any such proposal is successful the public have then given away a prime asset and history repeats.

Money aside, no luxury cabin is as 'eco-freindly' as no luxury cabin, considering there would also need to be an associated campsite anyhow.
