Easy overnighters

Postby Drifting » Wed 03 Aug, 2011 5:36 pm

I need a list refresh! Can folks recommend easy overnight walks in Tassie? So far I have Lees Paddocks, arguably Wineglass Bay, and Cockle Creek. What am I missing?

Thanks!

Scott Kilvert, Narcissus/Echo Point, Maria Island. Depends what you define as easy.

WB takes 2hrs to walk to, so no arguments, it's easy, and CC you can drive too. I would have said South Cape Rivulet in that part of the world.

Mt Field has heaps of easy options, how far do you consider easy?

Mt Field.
Plenty of huts there to make it easier, too. Lake Nicholls would be a good start - bit of a climb but not far, and you can climb up further to Field East if the weather's good.

Blizzard Plains to Lake Myrtle, or Moses Creek Track to Chapter are both shortish walks with good campsites, though the latter might be a bit rough for the youngster.

Lake StClair - Shadow Lake.
Lake Ada - Lake Fanny or Theresa Lagoon.
