Pedder

In a previous post I mentioned I would like to climb mountains around Pedder utilising a boat or kayaks. I was just wondering if anyone had old maps showing leads up to Coronation and Double Peak. I have heard various leads from the Lake were used, but could not find anything more specific. (I did however find an account of a trip to the Propstings from Maydena pre flooding.) Does anyone know the best way up onto the range around Frankland, Coronation/ Double Peak or The Citadel?

I have read a few accounts in old Tramps, will try and dig them out, the maps were only sketches. I think you will find when you are on the water the better leads will be apparent. Friends have recently been up to Jim Brown and Secheron(spelling?) and the leads are apparently very obvious.

Reassurance is always nice! Those old tramp articles will be great! I might order the full collection on cd...

Top of the class my friend.

Yes MJDaleesa, once your on the water it is very very obvious. Just pick a lead you like the look of, and knock yourself out!!

I've bought old maps from the old Lands Dept building in Macquarie St Hobart. Not fromthe shop at the bottom but upstairs where the cartographers were. Don't know if they're still there.
