Hi Mick. Havn't been there but have read about that track. There is another area nearby called the Golden Ridge , where there is at least 12 tunnels
to look at . Would like a report of the area if you make it down there.

Have just been working in the area teaching guys at Grange map reading . Tried to get down to the junction of the Hazelwood and Whyte, but the track has a section where a landslide occurred. Shall be heading back down on Monday, I have been informed that it is 30 min down 45min back up. Didn't do it this time as went down to the Whyte river to check the old flying fox to gain access to the Meridith range. They are going to show me the tunnels and cave in the Golden ridge area on Monday/Tuesday of next week as they are not marked on the maps.

Hi Mick, I went to the Golden ridge Tunnel last week. I am going back next Monday/Tuesday and shall grab the co-ordinates as you wouldn't find them of the track unless you were shown. They only know of the one tunnel, but I found a map on the MRT website of the Long plains Mining company which indicates sixteen mines in the area. I shall have a poke around to see how many I can find. I will keep you posted. Cheers Shane.
