Over the last few weeks I have seen the shorts for the new channel 9 "reality" show, "Excess Baggage".
I noticed one of the contestants appears to be standing on the summit of Federation. Other contestants seem to be doing other outdoor challenges, like rock climbing and mountain biking.
I probably would have believed it to be real footage until I noticed the guy on Federation who is holding a mountain bike in the air!
Surely this must be computer generated or he has been dropped there from helicopter? Anyone one from bushwalk.com completed the summit climb with their mountain bike over one shoulder???

Have thought it would be amusing to airlift a snack vending machine in just to get the reaction as someone clawed their way to the top

Definitely computer generated - if you slow it up they are huge relative to the peak - probably 20 foot high or more.
So the scale was all wrong.

Yup, to watch a bunch of grown men chasing a ball whilst wearing hotpants, bizarre

. And not even mentioning the camp show tune they sing at the end of the game

Sorry but my ...park pass and any camping fees are probably paying for this instead of being reinvested in the parks or on something useful

This gets stranger by the minute.
Apart from falling off cliffs or spraining an ankle etc, what do you think would be the biggest risk for a bunch of fatties to go exerting themselves in the natural environment?
Heart Attack maybe?
Weighs in at a solid 104.5kg

I know of quite a few very strong walkers who weigh in at or over 100kg.

If the cap fits...
If you're a fattie like the participants in that show, I don't think you fit the class of 'strong walker'
You can be 104kg and fit, no problems with that, but being 104kg, fat and unfit, and lining up for a high exertion TV show is what it is. Silly.

BMI is an imperfect measure, but if Fed is 6 foot (183cm) then his BMI is 31.2
18.5 - 24.9 Normal
25.0 - 29.9 Overweight
30.0 - 34.9 Obese
BMI CalculatorI think you'll find that it's pretty hard to be in the obese BMI range and fit. Overweight BMI range and fit, yes.
On the other hand, I don't know all there is to know about this. My BMI is 21.

My BMI is around 18. It dropped slightly below (17.9) for a couple of weeks a few years ago and I temporarily lost my medical certification for work.
It is a crude and often unreliable representation of someone's health.
