Hi all

Does anyone have tips on accessing the northern shoreline of Wineglass Bay? I want to get to the location shown at the green arrow here: http://goo.gl/kTDHi.

Thanks
Damien

Hi Damien - that should be pretty straightforward. You take the Wineglass Bay track over the Hazards. Where it comes out at the beach, you scramble eastward around the shoreline/bush above Hawksnest Cove. The slope isn't particularly steep, but there is definitely no track. Essentially you are sidling through light bush. The shoreline itself is a bit rough.

Can I ask: are you doing this in order to get a photo from a particular angle? Or something else?

cheers

Peter

Thanks Peter. So it's just a scrubby scramble then, that's good news.

Yes, I want to take some photos from there. Good guess :-)

Use a packraft and paddle straight to the spot.

There's some large breakers that land on the beach there sometimes. That could be an interesting exercise in a packraft. :-)
