Heading off to walk the Queen Charlotte track towards the end of November - any last minute tips before we head off?

Day 3 is quite long and starts with a stiff climb. Make sure you have lunch and plenty of water and snacks.
At the end of the day treat yourself to a nice room and dinner at the beautiful Portage Hotel.
If you have time before or after the walk, hire a car and drive along Queen Charlotte Drive to Havelock, the centre of the green-lipped mussel industry, where a meal at the Mussel Pot is a must.

You could loop back through Blenheim for a visit to the wineries.

its dry, don't expect any water at the shelter on the 25k's between endeavour inlet and the portage, theres no overhead shelter from the trees most of the way, but the trees on either side cut out the wind and can make for a hot days walk in good weather, take lots of water. you don't need anything more than running shoes or lightweight boots, its like a farm road.
november the weather could do just about anything. it can flip between hot and dry and cold and wet, its a dry year generally in that area.
