You will have an awesome experience !

Don't forget to get your US visa sorted. I saw some Aussie hikers have all kinds of trouble with US immigration when they tried to do the AT by overstaying the 90 day visa waiver entry.

Oh...and as far as being the hikers Everest goes, apparently the total vertical gain (and loss) over the entire trail is about 120,000m. That's equivalent to climbing from sea level to the summit of Everest 15 times........... probably best not to think about that before you start though.... :wink:
