Looking at getting away for 4-5nights a couple of times a year for some multi-day hikes somewhere in Asia.
Flights are cheap and I'm looking for somewhere to hike that's not going to be crowded with hikers and where I don't need a guide.
Any ideas fellow Earthlings?

Plenty of ideas... :D

These guys might be able to suggest a
trip if you ever find yourself in Changer's ( Chiangmai, Northern Thailand).

Plenty of National Parks, hot springs, beautiful waterfalls & caves nearby,
easily accessible by hired scooter.
After your walk take a 2hr traditional Thai massage to sooth any aches & pains.
International airport, accommodation & food is cheap. Locals friendly.

Laos is underdeveloped & mountainous.
Cross the border into Burma & step waaay back in time..
Plenty of volcanoes to explore in Indonesia..

Check out pinoymountaineer.com for any Philippines hikes. Lots of good mountains to summit here. Some require guides esp the climbs in the national parks but there are a lot that you can do alone.
