That's close enough
Its from the top of Mt Tyndall (or close to it as it is fairly spread out along the cliff top)
Your turn

Hoooleeeeeee This island really would be bigger than the mainland if they ironed it, it sure has got some bumpy bits!
I recognize the Pandani. Or one like it...
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:06 pm
tasadam
this certainly put the wind up me - but if you peer carefully you can make out Mt Rugby in the distance.
Don't ask me what the closer mountains are called, but its got me thinking
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:14 pm
OK - I will hazard a guess that it is on the track between Stuart Saddle and Goon Moor in the Eastern Arthurs.
Its a great photo and it gives me a bit of a tingle, as that is the track I have started to plan on for the next trip to the island.
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:18 pm
ooh close enough. Its from just above the campsite at goon moor.
Youre good at this! have another go
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:21 pm
Thanks - as others have said - it is addictive
But I will have to take a few days off I think.
This might be easy..??

Can't be from that high, and the angle is wrong.
Hmmmmm
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:33 pm
Agreed - it is not from High Camp
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:37 pm
Is it maybe half may up to High Camp, in spring?
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:40 pm
from Schnells Ridge then?
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:41 pm
Half way up is about the right height, but you are still correct about the angle being wrong.
Mt Solitary is the ridge on the far right exiting the page.
Wed 17 Jun, 2009 9:42 pm
Yes - Norts has got it. We were halfway up Schnells looking back to Scotts Peak (the island)
Curious how these posts cross over!!
Not spring - it was in early Jan this year
Norts turn

A bit of a guess - Wylds Craig?
(I think that's the Sawback Range in the distance?).

Shelf camp on the Eliza plateau? (which would make Mt Anne to the left of the image)

I reckon you're right.
I've been staring at it, knowing it's familiar. That bushy ridge below to the left looks SO familiar.
I'm so sure you're right I would invite you to go looking for your next photo.
I just checked my images - same
I should have got that.
Thu 18 Jun, 2009 9:35 am
Hmmm, yes, I was a bit off;
now that I look at it you are definitely right Kramster, shelf camp it is.
I'd say you could run with next one?
Thu 18 Jun, 2009 9:53 am
Go Kramster!
