Davis Lookout?
Mon 11 Mar, 2024 4:23 pm
Long way away. This lump is on the Peakbaggers' List.
Mon 11 Mar, 2024 7:09 pm
Nescient Peak?
Mon 11 Mar, 2024 8:13 pm
But not an Abel. You don't get such a clear view of anything from Nescient as you get from this of ... well, it's pretty much an all-round view.

Wild guess - lets try Tumble Tor
Tue 12 Mar, 2024 7:16 am
Closer, but still not there.
Tue 12 Mar, 2024 2:13 pm
Billopp Bluff?
Tue 12 Mar, 2024 2:36 pm
Or Bradys Lookout?
Tue 12 Mar, 2024 4:42 pm
Still inching closer, but not there.
I did drop in a clue of sorts when I posted the image.

Maybe Windmill Top/Sandbanks Tier?
Tue 12 Mar, 2024 7:27 pm
There are more ways to move than north.
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 5:47 am
I get a Rats Castle vibe from the boulder field
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 7:41 am
That's a lot closer but still not it. You've understood part of the original clue, but not all of it.
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 8:41 am
I have a feeling the clue might be more cryptic than some of mine.
Maybe more than one boulder field, or something else?
I did notice Three Sisters while poring over the map last night.
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 10:14 am
I will confirm that it's all about the boulder field.
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 10:33 am
Rats Castle is an Abel so that’s not it.
How about Split Rock. I see there’s a track marked to it on ListMap.
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 4:42 pm
Now you're going the wrong way.
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 5:03 pm
Now I'm clutching at straws. You said earlier don't keep going north (or words to that effect).
But I'll take a stab with WIld Dog Tier, which is on the Peakbaggers List.
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 7:41 pm
I didn't so much say don't keep going north as suggest that something else was included. Wild Dog is an Abel and, thus, was excluded earlier; it's also too far west.
"going the wrong way" to Graham meant in relatiion to Rats Castle. You need to read the text with the iimage very carefully and think about it.

Cannot follow your clues but will shuffle along with another wild guess - Cathcart Bluff?
Wed 13 Mar, 2024 9:55 pm
Your clue about going the wrong way north. Umm... Western Bluff?

It was? Anyway I forgot to cross check the Abels list. So, east of there.
This doesn't fit most of the clues or lists, but I'll throw it in anyway.
It overlooks a single large-ish boulder field bordered by forest, and I can make the word "one" from the central letters.
Weak arguments maybe, but - Breona Tier?
Thu 14 Mar, 2024 6:42 am
Breona Tier is closest so far, but still not it. Catchart is too far east, Breona still too far south.
I think there's going to be a lot of facepalming when this one goes off (not a cryptic clue, just a simple statement).

are you on Liffey Bluff

Tah Daaaah!! Liiffey Bluff it is, looking at the same boulder field in the Projection Bluff image but from a different angle.
That was fun.

Thanks NNW. I finally worked out the the clue about the same time that all the other high points had been eliminated.

So, you literally just went across the road from my shot
I need to redeem myself. Current photo - Is your Durston X-Mid at Fury Divide?
