Believe it or not that is exactly the spot I had in mind. The dead limbless burned out tree on the right stuck in my memory.

Someone else can go. I haven’t been out for a bit so my pictorial reserve’s are running low.

Ok I'll go if nobody wants to take up the offer. Name the waters my mate is looking over here.

I feel like that could be anywhere, but will take a wild guess and hope to get some hints to continue. Somewhere on the Georges River.

Nah not the Goerges….South of there. This is a smaller arm branching off from a pretty significant river.

Getting closer. In fact waters from the Kangaroo river may eventually reach this creek.

Not sure if we thinking of the same Sandy creek, John?

But anyway it isn’t that. Sandym was pretty close with Broughton you just have go back up river to the west a little bit. It’s shame my absolutely obscure clue wasn’t pounced upon so I’ll say the name of the creek shares the towns name which it skirts.

OK, looks a bit park like on the left bank. Ages ago I did a couple of short walks along Nowra Creek.

I unearthed photos from Bens Walk and discovered I have a similar shot from a slightly different angle.

This landform has much the same name as a more famous European massif.

And your random guess paid off Sandy. It is Mt Gibraltar near Bowral in the Southern Highlands. Highest point between Sydney and Canberra at around 860 m ASL. I'm overlooking Mittagong towards the Nattai area and the distant Blue Mountains.

Well, I have done a few climbs there and it looked vaguely familiar.

Next is the ACT from this past weekend.
