not quite - too far north on both counts. I don't think I'm giving too much away by saying there's a distinctive SW feel to the place

OK, i'm gonna lend some assistance, but will let others pinpoint scrub masters exact location.
I can tell it's on the Frankland Range...

Never been there but how about near the Citadel?

If not, I assume further west?

near enough. It's just where the track goes down to Citadel shelf. The big pointy bit on the horizon is Frankland Pk

Nice one Phil - I can see the helicopter (you cheat! ) ... and is that Mt Anne in the background? If so, what about Western Arthurs, near High Moor?

I haven't been in the Western Arthurs since the mid 1980s, so memory is hazy!

I'll second Peter's guess of High Moor on the Western Arthurs (haven't actually been that far in, but vaguely remember seeing a mate's photo from that area)
Nice ride tastrax :)

You are both correct - High Moor in the Arthurs.

For those interested, the old eroded campsite and the surrounding tracks are being used for trials of rehabilitation using native species, both from locally collected seed that was grown on in Hobart and the transplanting of local plants. Our trackworkers wanted to know if it was worth their while using local plants, that they removed in the course of trackwork, for rehabilitation in eroded areas. The site has been visited every couple of years to see the (slow) results of their work.

With all the snow in the distance you are probably looking into the Southern Ranges (from La Peruse up)
And it looks like a reasonable anount of open water before hitting a cove with a near point jutting out.
That probably places you on the Labillardiere Peninsula - and you would need to be looking west - so perhaps the Pineapple Rocks track?
I must admit, I had never heard of this place, but I did notice the name of the peninsula come up in the "next 3 walks" post.

near enough eggs - a good deduction. It's taken on the Luggaboine Track, which is indeed on the Labillardiere Peninsula. And that is the Southern Ranges, incl Mt La Perouse, across the water.

Over to eggs

cheers

Hmm - that answer has thrown me.
The mere mention of Tarn Shelf had me going and then you added from the Rodway Range??
Because this gives the game away - I will let you have it.

But the photo is actually from about the middle of the Tarn Shelf itself - looking out over a ridge that buts onto it - the peak at the end is called Mt Bridges - and Mt Field East rises behind on the horizon.

So over to you kramster

Thanks eggs
My next pic was going to be from the same neck of the woods, but suppose I'd best keep that one for another rainy day...
<scrambles to find another pic... must admit, I'm finding it harder to get something new>

How about this one (lets hope it lasts longer than my last 1 minute wonder)
