It really is a great shot! Similar to a pic I saw on 40degree south once.

Going with an easy one to see if you can knock it off before I go to bed....

Eggs was right and I was wrong :oops:

I thought it was Schooner Cove but on reflection it does look more like Balmoral Beach (in Bathurst Channel) looking up in to Joe Page Bay. Its been a few years since I was there. I had a stunner of a day in a dinghy and took quite a few similar shots from various beaches and hilltops in the area.

Pretty non-descript???
Could be looking at Wherretts Lookout (the pyramidal hill in the distance) & Mt Field West on the right, from up on Florentine Peak somewhere???
Best guess I could do with any semblance of thought going into it :oops:

Your in the right kind of area! Angain look at the mountain with cloud coviering part of it. If it was fully exposed you especially would get it first off Stu!

The peak on the right should be quite obvious....

I haven't been past the tarn shelf yet, so that part of Mt Field I only know by photos.
And being on the blackberry I cannot get the names of the peaks.
But that shape on the right was the only bit of this dark photo that I thought I had seen before.

So I think you are near K-col looking north.
There is a prominant feature north of the Rodway range on the edge of the drop
And the mass on the left would be the block with Mt Fielw West on it.
Its probably Wylds Craig up in the clouds?

Although I thought I had seen the profile before - I did not twig on the Mt Field area till your post.
Easy should mean you can actually see more than just a profile though.. :roll:

By ëasy"I meant mt field is a very very obvious mountain. And given how often Stu has been there thought the watcher would be obvious. Any more of a profile and it would have been too obvious. Was hoping the shadows would confuse a little.

I was going to say behind Hansons Peak (east side) near the Twisted lakes, but doesn't seem to add up.
Definitely looks like it is around Cradle somewhere & appears to be Marions Lookout in the background?
I could be totally off track tho, just trying to get things moving along...

Well you have Marion's Lookout correctly identified - or do you? - it isn't the ridge at the right rear.
Shouldn't be too hard to cobble the rest together..

Yes - its not behind Hanson's Peak or near Lake Hanson

A much more frequented location.

That will do stu.
Its from the Lake Dove circuit track as it passes its highest point before the boat shed and you get this lovely view down onto Lake Lilla with Marion's Lookout looming up and Crater Peak in the distance.

I suspect most "easy" ones are not so easy. You have to click with some detail and then it can all fall into place.
