I presume you are still archiving the last section of posts - that is why they have disappeared?
Ah, you caught me. I tried to be quick, but there's a few steps involved to do it in such a way that results in preserving the existing two topics with the same ID numbers, etc. Should all be good now. 81 pages in the archive topic!

YES! spot on. At 214 metres in height, Mt. William doesn't get on the Peak Bagger list, but is a great NE coast viewpoint (in sunny weather), and the clue inthe background is the Eddystone Lighthouse on Eddystone Point.
Over to whoever is next

You are on top of Sandbanks Tier due west of the pumphouse on the Eastern side of the Great Lake.

Ohhh Very nice Ian! Did you google that one? or is that experience talking??

I noted the coastline and peninsula, then the waterline that indicated a Hydro lake. The rocks and terrain looked central Plateau, so I thought perhaps Great Lake, eastern side from sun shading. Closer looking spotted the line of the road from Poatina, so I did a quick check of Google Earth and confirmed the location, then looked at the 1:25,00 on the LIST to verify the location names. Here's what it looked like in Google Earth.

Nice SW pics!
Your new pic.
The vege looks like regrowth on cleared land.
Perhaps 800m.
(I haven't been there.)
Maybe something on Black Bluff Range?
Tue 22 Sep, 2009 6:49 pm
. . . or could it be old mining area regrowth, like the old tin workings at Blue Tier?
Tue 22 Sep, 2009 6:50 pm
Cheers mate! top walk the SW circuit! Really is!!
nah not the black bluff range, is that the default guess at the moment....
Not the Blue Ties Tas-man MUCH more south
Bit higher than 800mtrs JUST under 1100 actually, but your right on the clearing/regrowth. Its a very well known location, especially to Hobartians
