...second thoughts I'll give it to you tasadam, I am about to leave site and be out of e-contact for some time.(It is from summit of Walled Mtn.) Cheers...

That explains the absence of lumpy bits - fair bit of zoom used.
OK, I'll take it (reluctantly - I wasn't really close, though I did think it was Ossa from that angle) and go find an image.
Back soon.

Want clues?

Yes please. It looks like maybe Olympus and Gould in the distance?

Clues?
This is taken looking South from a much earlier entry which was looking North from near the same spot at a distinct vegetation signature on the ridge to Barn Bluff.
It is a glorious photo tasadam.

That was going to be my clue.
Eggs, name it, or someone can search for the previous entry Eggs speaks of.
Or ask for another clue...

Ok
- I think you are on the saddle between Mt Ossa and Paddy's Nut
- meaning that your view is past the side of Ossa on the left & Thetis on the right down to Walled Mt with Macs Mt to its right.

I chose this photo because the previous photo that was effectively "given" to me was from a place in the photo I posted.
Almost opposite view...
And I have to agree with you eggs, I like this photo too.
I should do a gallery post of this place, I have some fantastic photos from here.
Your go eggs.

OK - the reverse view from last one. Very good.
I am afraid this is an old slide, so quality not the best - but should be easy to place.

Lots of pillars like that but the only ones I know so prominent are from Acropolis.

I don't want to assume anything but it's looking pretty good for me...

Boy - that was quick.
It was my first visit to Tasmania and I had promised my Mum not to climb any mountains in snow or cloud.
So we were content building a large snow man on the plateau when a Tasmanian family wandered past with some very small kids in line.
We thought - if they are going up we should tag along - so up we went.
They turned back half way up in complete white out conditions - but we continued on to the top.
Froze our toes for 15 minutes sitting amongst the boulders up top and then it lifted. One of the most amazing sites I have seen - Gould snow covered, the vast walls of Geryon to the north and these fairy tale columns with the white icing on top just below.
Back to you tasadam.

It really is a view you never forget...
Back in a few...

OK
Where am I when I took this?
Close enough is good enough because to be honest, I cannot pinpoint.

Is everybody out doing stuff except me? I was meant to go to Morriston but was discovered by a peakbagging friend still asleep on the couch at 7.30am departure time! It looks very much like the Acropolis again, taken from that plateau below its Southern end, on or near the track.

Your go then, well done!

I was wondering why you were on here instead of out there Amanda!
We had a nice easy day gaining 3 more points

Ragged took under 2 hrs, Clear Hill took just under 3!
Sun 18 Oct, 2009 7:15 pm
yes ILUVSWTAS thought you might wonder why I was on the net! Morriston only took 5 minutes anyway apparently so your strategy of doing it on the way back from elsewhere is a good one. Do you want to put something up, my computer is having issues...
Sun 18 Oct, 2009 7:37 pm
Yeh I heard it didnt take long! Definately have to do it next time we're heading up that way!!
Is it still ok if I come in tomorrow and grab that attachment?? Seth has been difficult and I have to get him out of the house tomorrow to give Pheebs a break......
Ok where am I??

I haven't spent enough time on mountains in the south.
I really should, before they're all logged.
Total Guess, Mt Weld.
Sun 18 Oct, 2009 8:19 pm
Haha yes get down here while they are still fairly wild and untouched...
Good guess considering the amount of logging done around Mt Weld and the amount of logging one can see in this photo..... but no not Weld! Although Mt Weld can be seen in this photo......
Sun 18 Oct, 2009 8:29 pm
Are you on snowy south?
ff
Sun 18 Oct, 2009 8:30 pm
Nope, but Snowy south can also be seen in this photo....
Sun 18 Oct, 2009 9:30 pm
well i might as well have a guess seeing as i have to tell you yes it is ok to get the jetboil attachement thingie tomorrow! I I think you are on Abbotts LO? Snowy North in foreground, Snowy South on left, Weld on right?
Sun 18 Oct, 2009 9:32 pm
Right Range Wrong LO

If yr computer is feeling better now, I think your almost close enough though......

Sun 18 Oct, 2009 9:48 pm

Mon 19 Oct, 2009 6:55 am

Mon 19 Oct, 2009 8:35 am
