Slightly mislead maybe Eggs, but not wrong.....
Anyway where is Robl
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 7:03 pm
OK _ I think its not quite 450 yet (walkinTas??) - so I even got that wrong.
And we have crossed over - Robl has already responded
This one is very touristy:
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 7:09 pm
Ah so he has!
Where is WalkinTas too for that matter....Ive not seen him around for a while........................
Hmmm Nice looking party in that shot. I'll have a better look in a second but im already thinking Bruny or Coles bay
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 7:17 pm
Actually is it long bay regatta point?
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 7:19 pm
Well, obviously Strahan, but more specifically Risby Cove and I am assuming Botanical Creek, along which Hogarth Falls Track runs?
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 7:26 pm
Who knows?
But Regatta Point is close.
But look - stepbystep really wants to get this one.
You guys had a really good joust today
It is Strahan - near the Hogarth Falls track start
So I had better give it to stepbystep. Sorry ILLUVSWTAS

Hahaha very noble of you Eggs

I like guessing more than posting anyway, and yeh im really enjoying this today...
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 7:35 pm
woohoo! I like it a lot, stayed at Risby Cove when I took my Mum around Tassie, it's pretty good and they have this cool live webcam you can pan/tilt.
Good for checking weather in Strahan.
Speaking of weather...here's an easy one too, the snow might fool 1 or 2.

Is it Tarn Shelf & the Rodways?
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 8:38 pm
whynotwalk, I agree.
But I guess either MacKenzie to Johnston or Walker to Newdegate?
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 9:34 pm
whynotwalk you got it, think Robi is more accurate but I forget which one is which.
Beautiful day that day.
Mon 23 Nov, 2009 10:30 pm
hehe..

..that photo brings back some memories. I walked over a frozen Newdegate in winter of 1978. Me and three others. Towards the middle of the lake, I turned and looked behind to see water seeping up in my footprints

Not a good look. The young and foolish (as I then was) are also lucky

so I survived that moment. Gives me nightmares to this very day

HaHa...it's pretty tempting to charge across isn't it. I'm usually on my own so wouldn't risk it.
That day I'm sure you could have skated over them easily. Here's the wider shot

Hmmm, this shot reminds me of Strahan; maybe taken from the mouth of Botanical Creek near the start of the Hogarth Falls track?
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 9:31 am
Yes phil - spot on - but I suspect you returned to the previous page - and so did not see that the game had moved on
With this jumble of recent comments someone may need to tell whynotwalk he can put up the next entry

Oh, woops!!

Okay - paying attention again. Here's an easy one. To make it (slightly) harder, please try and name the spot I'm standing as well as the place I'm viewing,
cheers

Well....it looks like a pretty battered South Cape Bay taken from the headlandy bit......what that feature is called is beyond me
Need someone with a better memory or a better map
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 11:04 am
South Cape Bay it is. Unless someone comes up with the name of the "headlandy bit" by 1pm, I'll hand it over to you sbs,
cheers

S'not from Coal Bluff is it?
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 12:00 pm
Well done ollster - Coal Bluff it is. (Bad luck sbs - you got pipped at the post, in the shadows of 1pm!)
Over to you ollster.
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 12:18 pm
OK... Gee that was hard to find something that wasn't too obscure, but not too obvious. Still, if you've been there you'll know it I reckon.

I have a feeling that I have seen a photo of this exact location earlier in the game

(or at least on the forum somewhere in the past couple of months!)
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 12:23 pm
Ah! I bet it was ILSWT... the cheeky little so and so. Should I post another then?
Nah, I'll have to remember to dig up some harder ones when I'm at home, assuming I get another shot later.
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 12:32 pm
Coal Bluff....course it was, my brain is mush, there were huge landslides last time I was there - even posted a report

My first overnighter (I think) was to South Cape Rivulet, and we traversed along the lower section of Coal Bluff on the way out, so the name stuck in my mind!
Yep, St. Pat's Head. I'll need to be more challenging next time!
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 12:47 pm
Cool, the rivulet is a great spot. Beautiful in good weather, AWESOME in foul weather.
One of my favorite day walks, great to watch the surf!
Here's another, not sure if it has been in da game before.

This wouldn't be at the end of a long walk along an old abandoned railway line/road, would it?
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 1:59 pm
Like East Pillinger (at the end of the Bird River Track)?
Tue 24 Nov, 2009 2:06 pm

Yes indeed.
Bird River Track to East Pillinger - great walk when it's wet.
Over to you whynotwalk.
Sorry eggs, I'm sure there is a couple of walks that fit that desciption
