Looks like you could be on Mt Rufus there eggs.
Goulds SL, Pyramid Mtn., Eldon Bluff & Macs Mtn in the background.
Looks like an old shot, the pad down into the Rufus / Hugel saddle doesn't look very pronounced.

It's a bit quiet SWT - and I really don't know where you are, but to start the ball rolling, are you anywhere near the Huon Valley??
cheers
Peter

Okay - that was a bit TOOO vague. Let's shift to the Derwent Valley and guess Collins Bonnet,
cheers

I'm acting as proxy for SW;
Not Collins Bonnet, but you are right about the outlook to the Derwent Valley.

Wed 09 Dec, 2009 2:45 pm
Thats a funny South... I'd of said Dromedary is East of Platform.......
Wed 09 Dec, 2009 3:16 pm
ooops - must read more carefully. How about Trestle Mt?
Wed 09 Dec, 2009 3:18 pm
Hehe thats cool dude,
Getting closer..... Not really a part of the Wellington range tho....
Wed 09 Dec, 2009 3:24 pm

After careful consultation of a certain peakbegging list, maybe Brown Mtn?
Wed 09 Dec, 2009 3:26 pm
Now thats an even worse idea of south of platform than dromodary was.......
getting further away......
Wed 09 Dec, 2009 3:33 pm

Wed 09 Dec, 2009 4:32 pm

Wed 09 Dec, 2009 4:52 pm
Could even be on Mt Brock.
ff
Wed 09 Dec, 2009 4:56 pm
Exciting photo tasadam.
Did you get out onto Mt Brock? And what part of the trip was this?
Oops - cross over.
Wed 09 Dec, 2009 6:01 pm
OK, this was from a few weeks ago, our Tasair pilot took us out past SW cape, up the coast a bit, then up over SW Cape Range etc and down into Melaleuca. My photo was indeed from the plane, as we were coming in towards Melaleuca, the bits in the photo have been named already, most significantly looking at Cox Bight and New Harbour Range.
We didn't summit Mt Melaleuca - we were only 400 metres (or possibly less) from the summit proper, but the scrub was too hard to make it worthwhile.
It was easy enough to this point, but my look of despair tells all...
The views from the ridges as you go higher and higher towards Mt Melaleuca are enough that you don't really need to summit it unless you're a peak bagger or you want to see to the west, or you just like pushing through very difficult scrub. Not worth the effort for me tho.
Your go ILUVSWTAS.
