Just realised the file name kind of gives it away aha.. so someone else can go.

Let me guess you're just South of Eddystone Point lighthouse, looking at North Abbotsbury beach on the Bay of Fires?
Sat 12 Dec, 2009 9:48 pm
Fairly confident I got that previous one correct so here we go:

- Where am I?
I guess most people should know what we're looking
at, but
where from could be a bit trickier
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 10:50 am
From the Overland Track near Cradle Mtn?
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 11:40 am
Yeah, thats a pretty good guess - could be a little more accurate though. Its actually not ON the Overland track... You can either post the next one or try and narrow it down, up to you...
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 1:48 pm
From about half a km towards Barn Bluff from the Overland Track?
(edit below added)
I will pop up another pic anyway.

Nah, its actually the other way. Just on the back of Cradle on the track towards Scott-Kilvert. Close enough though, from that distance it would look very similar anyway. Over to you robl...
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 4:10 pm
Hmmm not the bottom of the 2 reserviour lakes is it Robl?
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 4:29 pm
ILUVSWTAS is correct.

Thanks Robl. A wonderful spot! Always taunted as to where to pitch the tent when im up there! the King Billy forest is amazing, the Waterfall besides the first lake is really nice, and the spots in the scrub are quite ok too.....

Tricky one - I'm just gonna have a wild stab. Could it be on the Moonlight ridge track somewhere?
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:15 pm
Nope
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:21 pm
Given your answer I can help thinking my guess was in the wrong hemisphere... My other guess would be somewhere near the Walls...
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:23 pm
Still nope. And pay no attention to my first answer, it wasnt meant to be any kond of guide
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:25 pm
So it IS in the South West after all then?
...I'm just going by psychology rather than geography now
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:27 pm
Could be

c'mon a yes or a no, the South West 'aint much of a clue
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:48 pm
Haha bite me SBS :p
Come on you know 99.5% of my posts ARE from the SW
And the mountains in view are fairly obvious seen in the right angle.....

Ditto.
In other words, no idea....
Only remotely similar view that comes to what's left of my mind at the moment (red wine) is that when you're on the Arm River track just past the lake with the steel bridge looking out towards Pelion East. But the forest is too thick and the mountains are all wrong.
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:52 pm
Thick Forest and Wrong Mountains sounds like SW terrain to me

Ok as there are a few people playing at the moment, i'll give a clue...
The range in focus could be shared with a place in america thats between South and North
And there are 2 Fields in this shot......

I post, and a reply beats me.
OK, so an obvious mountain in the SW when seen from the right angle.
That would be....
Um............
Can you clue me - which direction are you looking?
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 6:56 pm
theres a clue in my edited post above.....

Mt Field West on the left (foreground mountains), Mt Field East must be the other one based on your clue. But I don't get the America clue because I cannot think of any coral fern plateau named Panama Canal...
No time to dig a map out & have a look so gotta leave it at that.
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 7:12 pm
Oh bugger you SWTAS, the Vodka and Orange is getting to me so I need a better clue.
I'm assuming you mean MT Field East & West, but I can't see it....and America

c'mon......
Okay Tasadam is quicker, he's on the soft stuff
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 7:19 pm
OK, semi-focused,
has to be from the north, maybe from Brown Mtn or Mt Dawson?
Sun 13 Dec, 2009 7:23 pm
Haha you guys are so drunk....
Mt Field is the big flat one you can see in the distance.... not the obvious range in front with the referance to Sth, america, and North

stepbystep wrote:has to be from the north, maybe from Brown Mtn or Mt Dawson?
But if it's North of Mount Field, than it's no longer in the South West as he claims...
