DOH! That's what comes of holding a map upside down while interpreting the direction of view

This one will be easy for anyone that has been here, but otherwise there may be clues you can pick up on :D

I have not been there, but I imagine its what the view from
Mt Freycinet towards Mt Graham would look like.

I also would Hazard a guess that it's in the Freycinet National Park, or maybe on Schouten Island. But I don't know where it's taken from or looking at although looking at the map, I think eggs may be right.

Deans Bluff, Pelion East, but you are not actually on Pillinger. Interesting!

Did anyone else get it? Hazard? Freycinet?
OK I'm bored...

It appears to me that you would be on the track (route?) that goes up from Lees Paddocks to Pillinger, and judging by the altitude I would say roughly two thirds the way up, but that could be deceptive.
I could be wrong in the altitude - you could already be on the edge of the plateau, WSW of Lake McCoy.
Close enough?

YES tasadam, that's certainly close enough. It was taken from a lookout on the edged of the escarpment south of Lake McCoy and the full panorama can be seen here :? .

I cropped it a little to remove Lees Paddocks which would have given it away immediately! Your Turn now. 8)

Re: Game - "Where am I ?"

Actually, not close enough.
I had to scour all the photos we had from Pillinger and cross reference them with the topographical maps from TheList.
I was thinking you were standing somewhere in the area of the red circle, as this is where I assume the track from Lees must come up - surrounding areas on the topographical look too steep.
But from there, you would be able to see Cathedral protruding out into the photo (if my map referencing is correct).

So you must be on the high point to the south of Lake McCoy, indicated by the black circle.

Right this time?

OK. Taken with our little Olympus P&S in 2004 before our SLR's were digital.
Hopefully easy enough to bring some new faces into the game... Though I understand how it is - restraint is difficult

If I'm not online and you want to get the game moving, I think many will be able to confirm this one.
If in doubt, check the cover of a book called

Could this be the easiest photo yet?

I can't believe this has sat there for so long with no response, especially with your clue. Can't resist any longer. It's from Waterfall Bluff on the Tasman Peninsula, looking south to Cape Huay.

At this somewhat latish hour I guess tasadam has gone to beddy bo bos, so at the risk of being smug (I know I am right as I have the book) will post the next photo without his confirmation. Then I think I will do the same and leave the night owls and early risers to go at it.

There are not too many clues here, so you might need to have been there, unless like eggs you have a very fertile imagination.

Hmmm, yes, I think it was probably a poor choice of image, not only because of the lack of clues but also because where I am is also what I am looking at. In other words, the same range. Which sort of defeats the aim of the game. However, now its up there, have a go at it. Think south and west.

9th April 2007... I can't cross reference that with any of your posts in the forums. Certainly south west by the rocks and vegetation (and as you said yourself).

Other than that, I haven't any other clues. :-(

For this one the name of the track will suffice, although I expect you to also know the name of the mountain which is the subject of the photo.
