You are both right - Double Cone is the top of the Remarkables.
This was from the Trig point a short walk from the road on the way up.

I will put up another one from New Zealand. No prizes for identifying the mountain. What's the name of the lake?

I considered it first, but it's been a while and I thought the track was on the other side of the Hooker Lake so you wouldn't get that perspective. I guess you could be off track though.

Yes, it is Hooker Lake. I suspect the track has been rerouted since you were there.

It's not McKellar but I can see the similarities - you are in the right area but this one is a little further south.

OK this is not an easy one but I thought Wayno might have recognised it.
Another hint: you can get here by heading south from the Greenstone Hut. But I got here by bicycle.

Not sure about the name of the lake, but are you somewhere on the Mavora (?) walkway?

Yes, close enough - it is North Mavora Lake. Full of monster trout too.

Thanks... Have yet to do the Mavora. Let's try Europe. The specific location I'm standing at has a name.
