I reckon that's on the Ben Lomond Plateau, with the flatish peak in the centre being Mensa Moor. Taken from near Giblin Peak?
Wed 08 Jul, 2009 8:17 am
...or from Coalmine Crag?
Wed 08 Jul, 2009 8:37 am
wello is correct, so over to you. We were setting out to walk to Mensa Moor.

Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.Ok! There appears to be a small problem with the board not accepting attachments. I'll email tasAdam, meanwhile ...

It appears there is a problem uploading attachments to the forum at the moment.
The fix will be unavailable for a few days. Further details, and a work-around HERE.This has also been posted to the home page as a news article for easy reference.

Are you on Quamby Bluff looking across to Mothers Cummings Peak?
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 12:17 pm
Spot on Eggs. That is Warner's Sugarloaf in the foreground.
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 12:20 pm
Anyone else can post the next one - using the work around.
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 6:24 pm
OK I will throw one in. I want the name given to the area that I am standing.
This image is a link to a larger image.

There is a bit of a trick to it.
By the way, that's just the basic jpeg straight out of the camera, I haven't got around to editing the RAW file yet...
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 7:45 pm
Are you on one of the celery top islands in bathurst harbour?
ff
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 7:48 pm
Correct, well done. I expected to at least make some people think with that one.
Your go, sing out if you need a hand
uploading an image.
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 8:30 pm
Sorry I don't have any pics ready ATM. Anyone else like to try?

On the ridgeline between Pelion West and Mt Achilles looking east.
can't figure what that pointy mt on the left would be though..
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 10:22 pm
Interesting thought, I was thinking it must have been somewhere on the north side of Pelion West, taken from the likes of Pine Forest Moor.
I assumed the peaky bit on the left might have been Paddys Nut.
That peak in the small gap way in the distance is a tricky one.
Thu 09 Jul, 2009 10:41 pm
Both incorrect I'm afraid. Right national park though.
Fri 10 Jul, 2009 8:07 am
From around the Coal Hill area (perhaps further along on the way to Goulds Sugarloaf?) - looking back to Mt. Cuvier;
behind that to the right is Mt. Gould;
behind to the left is Mt. Manfred (Manfreds Heel);
peaky one in left distance is Macs Mtn.
Peak in the gap as mentioned by tasadam I assume to be Hyperion.
Fri 10 Jul, 2009 12:22 pm
I think you are right stubowling, although the squarish mountain in the gap is likely to be Perrins Bluff and the photo is probably near the top of Coal Hill
Any further towards Gould's Sugerloaf and Coal Hill would be in the photo in front of Cuvier / Gould.
Fri 10 Jul, 2009 4:52 pm
I'll be off walking most of the weekend.
Anyone else is welcome to post.
Fri 10 Jul, 2009 9:41 pm
Stu / Eggs, you are correct. Photo was taken from the top of Coal Hill.
Sat 11 Jul, 2009 10:35 am
So if eggs doesn't have a photo to post, anyone else can.
Eggs?
EDIT Looks like Stu was first and he has invited anyone to post an image.
Sat 11 Jul, 2009 12:43 pm
...and you can now use attachments again! anyone, anyone? Bueller?
Sat 11 Jul, 2009 1:33 pm
Well that quietened the game down - though I still think it may ease down to 1 a day.
Still a very nice exercise though.
Nik - thank you again for your generosity in making this site available for uploads.
Where was this taken? - try and be precise - there is a trick with this view.

- Ascending Rogoona's first ridgeline looking north to the Walls of Jerusalem

The first three weeks were more likely the exception rather than the rule. It had to slow down eventually. I originally anticipated only a couple of pictures a day at most.
Thanks Nik and Adam for fixing things up. We're away again.
So. You are up high, the Walls in the background. Lake Adelaide in the mid-ground. Obvious guess in Rogoona. ...but there is a trick. hmmm. So maybe not on Rogoona, but on the first ridge above the track.
Sat 11 Jul, 2009 5:27 pm
Yes walkinTas
This view is not possible from Rogoona summit, but is only seen when climbing up the first ridge.
For those who are not aware, there are 2 ridges which are on top of Rogoona - with the Western being the higher - but not by much.
Over to walkinTAs

This is picture 148! Ooops - getting a bit keen there (image name is wrong). We've two to go to 150!
An accurate name for the track or the place please.
Sat 11 Jul, 2009 6:28 pm
With Perrins Bluff in the background like that and the peak obviously being Barn Bluff, I could do it with the map, but I haven't the time...
Sat 11 Jul, 2009 8:17 pm
Well, the nearest I've walked to where I think it might be is the Overland Track. Barn Bluff on the right, looks like Pelion West & co. in the distance. Turning the map upside down, with a bit of guesswork I'm going to say it's taken from the Lake Rodway Track near Benson Peak.
