One of "twin" peaks. Easy to visit both and do some walking in a single day.

And a nice place for a stroll, as is its sister next door.

Five rings to be exact.

You appear to be hinting at _hi_tle_ mountain

Correct Last, you broke the code . Whistler Mountain viewed from near the Winter Olympic Village where we were staying.

vagrom wrote:Amazing looking place - like a painting.

An in hindsight I'm not sure if this was a vague hint at the answer.
Maybe a subtle reference to artist James Abbott McNeill Whistler, of Whistler's Mother fame? :?

Either way Last has the neatest most correct answer.

Iceland - far background is Dyrhólaey.
Mountain block on the left is Mt Petursey.
But your location was hard to pick.
I think it is on or near the walk to Skogafoss Waterfall?

The 2 peaks rear right are the high points which require ropes to ascend.

Is one of them Mt Kenya?

Re: Game: Where-is-it? (international)

Mt Kenya is complex - the 3 highest peaks all have their own names [Lenana, Bation, Nellion] - and together make up Mt Kenya.
This shot is leaving the valley of Liki North on the 3rd day of our approach.

I threw that answer in without much thought to stimulate some interest, although I was aware you'd been there.
Not really a deserving winner as I should have done more due diligence, so I'll post something that hopefully anyone can get.

I was riding a rented bicycle through part of the national park estate then across the structure in the distance and back. What is it?

Correct ribuck. I rode from Fishermans Wharf through the parkland areas over the bridge and back.
A lot of people ride into Sausalito and return by ferry but I wanted the experience of riding the iconic bridge both ways.

Thanks johnw. I too didn't ride the ferry. I walked across the bridge.

This photo is in Europe. I'm looking for the location, or alternatively the name of the journey I was on.

Journey sounds so etherial that it can only be .. . El Camino !

But I think not as i've never seen waterfall shots. One tends to think of a road bash the whole way to Compostella.

Re: Game: Where-is-it? (international)

Well, my journey is not a religious pilgrimage, but it's similar in that the focus is on reaching the end point, and the journey is named after its endpoint.

Unlike the Camino, my journey has no fixed route although the guidebooks describe some common variations.

Might be Falls of Glomach

Cape Wrath Trail ? not sure what Falls they are though.

Re: Game: Where-is-it? (international)

Wed 07 Dec, 2022 6:53 pm

Eggs has it correct - it's the Falls of Glomach, in Scotland as NNW suggested.

And keithj was spot-on to suggest the Cape Wrath Trail as the journey name. There's no signposting, no constructed trail, and not even a fixed route. You just get yourself from Fort William to Cape Wrath however you like, by connecting your choice of glens (valleys) and bealachs (passes).

The key to making this possible is that the land access laws in Scotland allow you to walk almost anywhere - and you can also camp almost anywhere along the way.

I walked the Cape Wrath Trail this northern summer in 18 days (with resupplies every 4 or 5 days), as part of my section-walk along the length and breadth of Scotland. The Cape Wrath Trail was easily the most amazing adventure I've had in the UK. I'm planning to do it again in 2023 by a different route - and not during the midge season this time :(

Over to eggs...
