The last time I did Mawsons-Gungartan-Schlink Pass in late 2018 it was open at higher altitudes and light scrub going down to the pass. On The Kerries I saw a few swamps, but they could be avoided. Did the 2019-20 fires burn this region?

No fires in this area for years.
Im guessing the previous poster picked a few bad lines and found themselves too low along the ridge.
I was up there a few weeks ago and the route over the Kerries, between Mawsons and Gungarten and down to the road is the same it’s always been to me.

All swamp and boulders?
Absolutely NOT if you take the ridge route. I suspect the OP was down in the valley - yeah, in the swamp I guess.
Cheers
