Hi all. I am interested to hear from anyone who has negotiated the upper Kowmung.
The few reports that I have been able to locate (from the late 30's/early 40's) suggest that campsites are generally restricted to large granite slabs which I imagine would limit shelter options.
Looking forward to your replies.
cheers

If you search for Morong Deep, you will probably get a lot more reports from more recently - which might be useful.

Many years ago my wife & I walked the length of the K from up near the farmland down to the Coxs R. No trouble camping, bypassed the 'canyon', good fun. Took a week or so.
Cheers

A bivvy bag and an air mattress works fine on a granite slab. Morong Deep is worth it!
More important is that you wear lightweight footwear that has good grip on wet rock.

I did Morong Deep years ago.
I recall there were a few swims, but campsites were not a problem as far as I remember.
It is a beautiful part of the world, including all the Bindook, Murruin, Tomat areas.
