Does anyone have any beta/recommendations on a Russell's Needle walk coming from the south via Mt Jellore?

It seems straightforward except for the Jellore Creek crossing. Thanks guys.

There is a track from Soapy Flat Rd to Mt Jellore - have a look on OpenStreetMap. Does that help?

Yep that track is well established and there are (were?) fixed (albeit unnecessary) ropes that aid the descent into/ascent put of Jellore ck. I would have thought getting accross creek to the north of Mt Jellore (which ultimately joins with Jellore Ck) would be the main issue for the OP?

I have walked directly south from Russels Needle Track to Mt Jellore 7 years ago. My memory is that there was nothing too outrageous about it - standard off-track walking with a steep climb up Mt Jellore. Definitely doable. My route is shown in blue on the attached map.

Thank you, this is exactly where I was thinking of linking the trails. Thanks everyone.

Looking at my blue line (above) there are some squiggles, which means there might be one or two rock lines you have to pick your way through. It’s 7 years since I did it and I have forgotten the details. There was nothing technical (nothing requiring ropes) and I did it solo.

Thank you. Taking the 9 year old so minimal technical but still some scrambling sounds right up his alley. Appreciate it.

Any insight on the helipads, were they put in by the fire guys?
