Great Ocean Road Bushfires

Postby MickyB » Sat 26 Dec, 2015 9:28 am

A large bushfire is still burning out of control in my favorite part of the state with at least 53 houses confirmed destroyed. I hope any members of this forum who live in that area are safe and well.

A Christmas Day bushfire has destroyed dozens of homes along the Great Ocean Road on Victoria's south-west coast, and is still burning out of control.
A cool change has subdued the blaze, with some heavy rain falling on the area, but the damage is still severe.
The Country Fire Authority (CFA) confirmed 35 homes had been lost in Wye River, and 18 at Separation Creek on Friday.

I walked from the Gables to the Apostles along the track yesterday and it was fine. Well outside of the fire zone (which is now contained) and in great condition as usual.
