No, but I've never heard of that creek running dry.

100mm+ of rain recorded so far this month at Falls Creek. Don't think you'll have any problems.

Thanks north-north-west, Xplora and Drew. Everything I'd read suggested there'd not be a problem. But when I looked at a map and saw the creek commenced only 250m up from the track, I thought I ought to ask.

Agree, always running well when I've been there. Big River is not too far way and has marginal camping.

Yeah, I thought about that too as it's only about 1km away. How "marginal"? I will be solo.

About 2 weeks ago - plenty of water in the creek before the rains came.
As far as the track from there down to Big River, you could camp on the road almost anywhere if you wanted.

If you are alone then the Saddle would be ideal as you can walk up to the helipad and watch the sun go down. If you have time for a diversion you could also go down to Cairn Creek Hut. Pretty spot.

I seem to recall a good grassy spot on the other side of the river, which would be a very nice campsite. Just means wet feet evening and next morning.
But the saddle campsite is fine, and the helipad even better (as long as you make sure you're off it as early as possible).

This is the Big River Crossing along the Big River Fire Track a few weeks ago.
Note the grassy part on the far side.

I suspect the level was down a bit, as I was able to cross without getting the feet wet.

Yes i know im kickstarting an old thread but...

Where is the helipad??????? I crossed this river on the weekend and cruised past the saddle on my last day of a 3 day bikepack trip

The helipad is uphill and near the turnoff to Quartz Ridge. Strangely, recent maps do not show the helipad, but my 1975 FCV Feathertop 1:63,360 shows it.

The helipad is shown on the second edition Spatial Vision 1:50k. Located at the top of a slope where the track to The Grey Hills intersects, and a few minutes up from the creek and the Quartz Ridge track. A large part of it consists of a large fire ring. Why people build such monstrosities on the few bits of flat ground that are available is beyond my comprehension.

And to answer my own question above, the creek is flowing beautifully.
