The Prom . : 5 mile beach

Sat 01 Mar, 2014 8:08 pm

Hi
I am plotting a hiking trip to 5 mile beach at the North of the Prom . this month. What is the drinking water situation like at Barry Creek, 5 mile beach and maybe Johnny Souey Cove?I have never been there and I have kind of walked the South East of the Prom to death.

Hi
I plan to walk this 'endless highway' on the weekend of March 22,23 2014.
It is not as leafy and scenic at the hike to Refuge cove but the Beach at 5 mile beach looks really wild and remote.I know that the water source is over the river. If one has to swim across with the came back bladder between one's teeth then that is what a man's gotta do!

You can walk across to the spring at 5 mile beach easily at low tide or wade at high tide. The mouth max's no more than 10m wide and is very shallow. It's a small spring but having been there a few times it has always been flowing.
