Was talking to a mate last week about this camping ground. He said he's been there a few times over the past few weeks and the area was becoming very popular.

That time of year everywhere is going to be relatively busy. Wasn't too bad the year just gone but you had to pay then, also got bunjip nearby. I regularly walk there as it's nearby, the campsites get busier but less people get out on the tracks around.
Let's face it at that time of year its a lot harder to have a quiet campsite anywhere.

There are some really good areas there, where you can walk in and just bush camp. I have done so many times. Any of the fire trails- you're never more than 45 minutes from a road, and most of the fire trails pass very close by water.

You can easily spot an area of bush from the track- where the scrub is as thick-or as light- as you want. There are lots of great spots for tent camping.

Leave the car in the main Kurth Kiln area car park, go set up a base- and explore in different directions from there. North-west of the lake is good.

Cheers
