Get out of the habit of the snow plough ,start practicing your parallel turns bend those knees , and you will get the confidence to tackle some proper backcountry turns up on the Bogongs one day....

I don't snow plough much anymore . I do parallel and Telemark technique these days. My ski trip to Japan helped me to improve quite a bit.
I am ready to ski at Mt. Bogong . I just have to find the time. I have so many other ski trips booked already !
I will be up skiing on the Bogong High Plains for a week in early August. I have skied down Mt. Nelse a number of times. That is possibly slightly more difficult than skiing down Drover's Dream or
Towers at Falls Creek.
Skiing In NZ is also where you up your game.I will be skiing there in August too.

Consider checking out the Alpine National Park. There are some fantastic trails around Mount Feathertop and Mount Bogong that offer great scenery without the dense undergrowth.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this walk as redmans and the plateau are very fine indeed. You may have seen/heard a lot about the luxe huts etc on the gpt but just be aware these two don't have any shelter, just some picnic tables.

I did that walk a couple of months ago. Arguably the toughest section of the whole trail but immensely enjoyable with spectacular scenery. the Major Mitchell Plateau was my fav section. I started at Redman Road and finished at Jimmy Creek using the Grampians Walks shuttle. No huts at either camp and only a water tank attached to the dunny. There is a serviced water tank just before Duwul and another just after Mount William and before you descend so don't carry too much for the slog up to Mount William. Also tanks at Redman road trailhead and Jimmy Creek of course. Great walk. Enjoy.
