The track clearing I had in mind at The A**es Ears will probably be carried out by a hot bushfire in the Wallaby rocks 4x4 track area.
The entire GPT could become a pile of charcoal. I did predict this would happen one day . That day may be coming soon.

The Fortress has been burnt over now. Seems very unlikely that the track will be reinstated given it was rumored to be officially no longer maintained?

Devastating. Mt Thakeray is within the fire. The Fortress area is great for bushwalking
