Mt Difficult - Grampians

Postby KevH » Thu 17 Apr, 2025 11:18 am

Hi All,

Just got back from a wonderful 5 days in the Grampians. Weather was amazing from 12.04.2025 to 17.04.2025.
Went away with family so walks were not to strenuous.
Final day tackled Mt Difficult we undertook this walk via the Mt Difficult 4wd track a 45 minute car trip from Halls Gap. Road was in ok condition some corrugations and pot holes but if you take it easy this can be accomplished in most cars.
The walk can also be accessed via BeeHive falls but we took the shorter option.
Walk was approx 9km return. Pretty well marked and easy to follow the trail. The trail was overgrown in places so definitely got a fair few scratches on the way up and way down but nothing to serious.
View from the top was fantastic. Family really enjoyed the walk with my youngest being 6. Took approx 2hrs 15 minutes with a break up the top for lunch. Highly recommended as a shortish , family friendly walk. Big plus was we did not see one other person.

Cheers Kev.

Thanks for the report, you timed it very well re the weather! It's great up there this time of the year (although spring wildflowers are something else). Good idea with the drive, in terms of getting the whole family there; on a relatively clear day the views from the summit are brilliant.
