hi im just wondering with the winter gate closures, (also post bad weather closures).. Should I be able to access the doolans plain / Moroka River Track. year round? and if so is the best route without having a super 4x4, coming from Licola up Tamboritha road-to arbuckle junction - onto moroka road??

any help would be appreciated!!

VicParks have a map of seasonal road closures on their website. I'm pretty sure Doolans would be gated over the winter, but Tamboritha Road to Arbuckle and then along Moroka would get you to the start of it. There can be a fair bit of snow down on the higher stretches of that, though - I've been through 1 metre drifts around Lost Plain this time of the year.
If you don't have a 4WD and/or snow chains it might not be the best idea to drive up there right now.
