Hi, Am planning a 2 night 3 day walk from howmans gap to Mountain creek via Ropers and cleve cole in early March.

Crossing the rocky valley creek in early March pose a problem in terms of deepness, strong flow etc...??

Any suggestions diff route from bogong village be a better option????

The creek is usually only an issue during the spring thaw or after particularly heavy rain. Neither is likely to be a major issue in March - and if it is you can always start at Bogong Village and go up over Little Arthur.

Thanks is parking cars at Howmans Gap centre permitted?? or is there carpark on the Bogong high plains rd?

I think you can park at Howmans but I wouldn't swear to it as I never did. There are a few small parking areas by the road between the Bogong Village turnoff and Falls.

Best check with the local Parks office or tourist info centre.

Maybe not the YMCA grounds. I can't imagine why you couldn't park across the road from the resort entry gate at Howmans Gap.
All the winter restrictions tend to go out the window in ski resort during the the summer time.
I'd say you would be within the Falls Creek resort and this is what they say about summer parking - http://www.fallscreek.com.au/carparking
"For the majority of the warmer months (October to June) Falls Creek village is open to vehicles.
When the village is open to vehicles you are able to drive your vehicle into the village (via Falls Creek Rd and Slalom St entrances) and park outside your accommodation or other businesses."

We have not had any good rain for some time and all the streams are quite low so if you keep an eye on the weather for any big rain events you should be well enough informed. The Big river crossing at the bottom of T spur should not pose any problem either. Parking - like the others have said.

All good we parked outside to the left of entry to YMCA , and crossing the creek was no problem

We crossed Big River from Roper 's hut on Duane spur to the T spur on Sunday 13/3/16. Fording the river was fine. No Problem. It was knee deep in places . I am tall with long legs so that could be deeper for others. There are leeches a plenty down there !!!

The trek up The T spur was a nut cracker or an ovary crusher .It was sunny and humid. Thank goodness the stream at the T Spur/ AAWT junction was flowing. I had run out of water half an hour before reaching the T spur- Long Spur track junction.
There is water flowing/trickling at camp creek just down from CC hut. That is fresher and has no shrimpy things in it . The CC Hut water has shrimpy things in it!!
