Postby Thewaz » Mon 28 Dec, 2020 9:07 am

Hi Guys

Anyone been up staircase and down Eskdale spurs on Bogong recently and know if the huts have water in the tanks please?
We have had good rain but want to make sure
Thankyou

I walked up Eskdale and down Staircase on 5/12.
Filled up water bottles at Michell hut. Tank was good then.
Also, Mountain creek was flowing where Eskdale crosses it a bit below Michell hut.

Didn't check Bivouac hut tank on way down.

The tanks at Bivuac, Cleve Cole and Michel huts were all full.

The Summit Hut soak is less reliable than was the case, running well after precipitation but less so at other times. The Federation Hut tank was dry a few days ago. The choices are getting water from the Bungalow Hut site or off Feathertop on the Tom Kneen Track.
