Beeripmo Walk Clear-Fell

Postby Dexter » Tue 03 Oct, 2023 8:46 pm

I'm not hugely across this one but this walk holds a special place in my heart. It would be a tragedy to see large sections cleared.

Signed. Thanks for bringing attention to this. I want to do this walk with my kid(s) if I can drag them away from their computers/tablets

I hope you get there with the kids. Maybe do it while you still can!

What worries me, is that it's a reasonably unknown area outside of bushwalking circles and could well fly under the radar of a lot of people.

My thoughts exactly

Very sad!
Lovely place, I was planning another walk there as soon as my current injury heals.

Likely. Interesting.
I have friends in Raglan who have been walking the Mount Cole/Mount Buangor circuits for many years (I referred them to the VNPA campaign page) and they have no knowledge of VicForest activity (past or present), nor have I, also as a frequent visitor in the warmer months. The Beeripmo Walk is enjoyable (all of the walks are!), and could do with a fair amount of surface stabilisation — erosion in places is very noticeable and is worsened by heavy rain events and falling trees in high winds — factors that can affect other walks with high traffic and exposure.
Conversation about the weather is the last refuge of the unimaginative.

The best possible outcome is that the information is false. Hopefully it is, I'm not entirely sure enough people would put up a fight for that area.
