Water sources in Girraween National Park

Postby freehorizon » Sun 21 Apr, 2024 6:16 pm

I am planning to do a hike sometime this winter in Girraween National Park and was wondering what would the water situation be like, or if their would be any reliable sources of water around where i am planning to stay. The places are Northern Management Trail walkers Camp, South Bald Rock remote bush camp and Haydens flat remote bush camp.

I know it is impossible to be able to accurately tell what the water levels will be like in 3 months especially as the dry season is approaching. I just would like to get an idea on what water could be available so i can plan the quantity of water required and if any secondary measures also would need to be implemented.

Haydens Flat has a very reliable waterhole. Usually flowing creek except in really dry times, but even in the dry times there's been water pooling there.
