Mt Warning from Brummies....
Blustery, twigs & branches falling from swaying trees.
Happy on the inside again now I've seen this view...city life was grinding me down.

Hopefully the crappy phone camera does it justice.
P.S. Now that I'm back home I've replaced the crappy phone pics.

No GPSGuided, exploring the volcanic rim around Mt Warning for unusual sunrise/ sunset viewing points.
Cool & windy at the moment....the possum/wool blend beanie & socks are working a treat.

Great aerial photo of the Mt Warning/Wollumbin Caldara....unfortunately not mine.
Brummies is the bump in the ridgeline in the foreground.
I blame this picture for making me want to explore the other ridges & peaks around Mt Wollumbin.

Almost Midnight....the wind has sprung up again & is roaring like a freight train in the swaying canopy above.
Glad I found a protected spot to hang my hammock !

On this occasion I was far enough away from the cliff edge not to be effected by the wind.
l was anchored low on a large diameter tree at the head end which had already tangled with the wind on many occasions & had lost limbs so was much shorter and sparser, so no flex there.
The spindly sapling at the leg end hadn't grown tall enough yet to feel the winds full force.
So no swinging on this occasion, just a lot of moonlight mayhem in the tree tops around me. You could hear the gusts coming. A thrilling night to say the least !

Very nice ofuros! When I lived in SEQ I often thought about going for a wander inside the ring of dykes around Wollumbin's plug, but like many things, I never did. I have wondered about that little farm that you can see in your third photo, and that shows up clearly on google earth/maps, and wondered about who is lucky enough to live down there. On google earth I can see the outline of the track up to the ridge too, probably the one you took.

Great stuff. Some really interesting perspectives of Wollumbin. Can't wait to see where else you get to. There have been some rock climbing ascents of the North West Face (Phil box used to hang around these forums a bit). Thanks Pteropus & Cams....I really want to watch the suns rays light up the flanks of Mt Wollumbin from the
3 Tops in the N/East or maybe the Northern tip of Brummies Ridge. There's also another ridge overlooking Hidden Valley in the east,
that give a closer view point. So they're all on the to-do list...oooh that ever lengthening list.
