Hi All
We are doing the Jatbula trai in mid July. Two questions please:
1. Can anyone comment on their experience with flying i insects (mossies, flies etc.) and whether a head net and/or insect repellent in necessary
2. I notice temps seems to get down to as low as 9 degrees but but are most nights hot/warm and so light sleeping gear adequate?
Thanks

We did the track in July a couple of years ago. You will not need a tent just take a ground sheet and double mosquito net.
I took a sea to summit trek 1 sleeping bag and most nights just slept on my Matt using the bag as a quilt if I needed it. Most nights were too warm for a
Sleeping bag.
We did not have any trouble with flying insects
I took a Head net and did not need or use it. Just take some repellent for evenings in case
It’s a great walk and not too hard
Swimming every day at beautiful water holes!

If you haven’t left yet- we just spent a couple of nights in Nitmiluk Gorge & the bugs weren’t bad at all. I slept out of the tent one night & didn’t get eaten alive. Took light sleeping bags such as Roman palm 1 and they were fine. Didn’t need jackets.
Awesome place!
