Walked this area last Saturday. The most westerly point of Tas. Started halfway down the road from Marrawah to Arthur River.
About 4 k's from the road to the coast following heathland with good display of wildflowers including orchids. Then its an 11 k
beach walk interspersed with a few headland crossings , one near Church Rock. Good wildlife , fossils and plants to see.
You walk across middens in several places , plus historic depressions in rockbeds where seals were clobbered by aboriginals.
We were treated to a history of the area by Geoff King who runs the devil tours up there.Mr. robinson passed through the
area rounding up the aboriginals in 1832. The area is protected and part is privately owned by him , but he doesnt mind walkers
going through. The fact that it rained for the whole 17 k walk didn't deter from the beauty of it. Car shuffle is necessary .
