Black Bluff and Black Bluff Range

Postby naturelover » Mon 17 Feb, 2014 10:55 am

Black Bluff and Black Bluff range are not peaks that have a particular reputation for splendour, and I set out to do them because, well, they're there, they're on the list, my friends were going, and new mountains are fun, but not because I was expecting anything particularly wonderful.
What a marvellous surprise I got, and an experience of beauty that way surpassed my expectations.

You're on the Penguin to Cradle Track. See if you can find the Hellyer Plaque (view: Where Am I? thread 13/6/11)
Surgite et .. andiamo!

If this peak were in the south of the state , it would get far more attention than it gets ..lucky for us in the north west.
Was up there myself with a party of 3, 2 weeks ago , fantastic views on a clear day ..Bass Strait , Cradle . An optical illusion of course ..but one seems higher up than Cradle , but I'm sure the official measurement is correct.
