Mt Stormont and Minnow Falls

Last week I did two walks which may interest readers.
One was a fabulous circuit to Minnow Falls,on the eastern flanks of Mt Roland, enabled by the hard work of Bill Shepherd. This route is one of the best fun obstacle courses imaginable, and goes through beautiful rainforest while it is at at.

The next one was a one-pointer on the peak baggers' list, Mt Stormont, near Moina, en route to Cradle mountain. A member of this forum alerted me to the fact that a group she belongs to was going, and that the mount is on private property, often hard to access, so I jumped at the chance. As my blog reports, the landowner was really welcoming, so I'm sure that other walkers would not get a rebuffing reception if they contact him and ask. The driving part goes through his property and a mine, and there is a gate with a padlock, so asking is essential.

Brilliant report - as usual, nl. Gorgeous shots. Love it! Mental note to check out the Minnow Falls circuit option next time - we went up and down Bill's track - yep, it was definitely fun.
