Climbed Mt Snowy on the weekend. We visited Hartz Peak first, to see what could be seen, and we saw a wonderful wedge-tailed eagle.
(See below)
To reach Snowy, we went back east for about 5 mins, then dropped south (quite steeply), and then contoured back west to Arthur Tarn and then Emily, before joining the marked pad to the top. The return route from Arthur Tarn to the track was full of adventure, swimming over scoparia, straddling leptospermum, crawling like wombats through spaces not big enough for humans in the dense, marshy scrub. Eventually we climbed up to rockier territory, and emerged just above Ladies' tarn. With mist closing in around us, the adventure was hightened. It was all great fun.
